As I was reading my bible this morning and thinking about it being a new year, and all I would like to see changed about myself this year God gave me this scripture and word. I want to share it with you.
Galations 5:16-26 says- So I say, live by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the sinful nature. For the sinful nature desires what is contrary to the Spirit, and the Spirit what is contrary to the sinful nature. They are in conflict with each other, so that you do not do what you want. if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under law. The acts of the sinful nature are obvious:sexual immorality, impurity, and debauchery;idolatry, and witchcraft;hatred, discord, jealousy, fits of rage, selfish ambition, dissensions, factions, and envy; drunkenness, orgies, and the like. I warn you as I did before, that those who live like this will not not inherit the kingdom of God. But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. Against such things there is no law. Those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the sinful nature with it's passions and desires. Since we live by the Spirit, let us keep in step with the Spirit. Let us not become conceited, provoking, and envying each other.
Wow. I have some improvements to make in the new year. I have been jealous, ill tempered, and had selfish ambition at times. I have not always had the best self control with my tongue.
I know I'm not gonna be perfect, and I'm so glad that I have a Saviour who forgives my imperfectness, but I do want to strive to show more of God through my words, actions, and the way I live. I desire, and crave to show the fruits of the Spirit and grow ever closer to my Lord and Savior this year.
This is my wish for the new year ahead of me.
We all have improvements to make. I guess we will until Christ returns and we are perfected through Him. Very insightful blog babe!
